Questions

What does “today’s dollars” mean?

Prices usually rise over time, so a dollar in 20 years buys less than a dollar today. Today’s dollars show the future balance adjusted by the inflation rate you choose, so it’s easier to compare.

Will I really earn this?

Not necessarily. Rates change, and the result assumes the same rate every year with nothing taken out. It is an illustration, not a forecast.

Is this financial or tax advice?

No. It works out estimates from the figures you enter and the published rules shown on the page. It doesn’t consider your circumstances. For a decision, consider talking to a registered tax agent or a licensed financial adviser.

Is what I enter saved or sent anywhere?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else.
